METHODOLOGY AND TEACHING STAFF
The communicative approach and its different methods provide the
theoretical background for our teaching techniques. However we
try to adopt the best suited methods or combination of them for
each case, without ruling out contributions from Structuralism/Audio-lingualism
whenever necessary.
We could point out three basic guidelines for our teaching procedures:
A functional component: what we use the language for
(describing, narrating, asking for information, convincing, etc.)
A notional component: entities, notions or topic areas
we are dealing with when we use the language (politics, environment,
food and drinks, society, business, etc.)
An operative/situational component: in which context
or situation the language will be used (meetings, social events,
oral presentations, negotiations, telephoning, etc.)
E.S.P. (English for a Special Purpose) constitutes, of course,
a very relevant aspect of our teaching programmes since most of
our students require the target language for their professional
life.
The materials used in our courses cover a wide range of elements
from textbooks, both general and business oriented, to authentic
reading, video and audio materials provided by the media and the
internet and pedagogically adapted to suit the students’ needs.
TEACHING STAFF
Our teachers’ team is quite varied ranging from bilingual philologists to native graduates. They are not only certified in pedagogy but many of them proceed from other fields: finance, law, political
sciences, advertising, etc. ENTERPRISE has always put the emphasis
on an effective use of our Human Resources’ potential, thus
assigning the most suitable teacher to each particular group or
individual student.
